A school can help disabled children in the following ways
- There should be a provision for special education for disabled children.
- There should be a provision for special teaching aids or equipments.
- School should provide special furniture or facility in infrastructure such as ramp, wheel chair, special toilet etc.
- Teachers should give a proper attention on such kind of children.

and college-going children spends more on education whereas a family with old age members spends more on medicines. - Place of Residence Family living in an urban area has higher expenditure than those living in rural area. Thus, place of residence also influences the expenditure of a family.
- Family Values Value system of family members also influences their expenditure. A family who values education spends a lot on buying books and being members of good libraries.

- He needs constant reassurance to help him in exercising better control on emotions and feel emotionally secure.

Cause and Prevention
- Provide treatment under doctor’s supervision.
- Keep cotton wards between teeth to prevent tongue bites.
- After recavery two more tetanus toxoid shots should be given over the year.
- DPT is a triple vaccine that provides protection against diptheria, pertussis and tetanus. It is given in three doses starting from six weeks of age at an interval of 4-6 weeks.

Meal planning is important for everyone because it fulfils the nutritional needs of all the family
members. Attractive and appetising meals can be served with prior meal planning.
There are some factors which affect the meal planning. These are given below
- Economic Factor The amount and the kind of food totally depends upon income of a family. With decrease in income percentage, expenditure on food automatically decreases, hence more careful efforts are required to plan meals.
- Seasonal Factor The season affects the food intake. The appetite is at the low level during summers. One tends to take in more fluids during summer to keep the body cool. Physical requirements also change with the seasonal change.
- Occupational Factor A person with more physical work requires more energy as compared to a person who does more mental work. Children studying in school require more protein and growing children require more of calcium and vitamins.
- Family Factor More members mean more food for family. Size of a family basically influences the meal planning. Family composition refers to the age, sex and activity and different physical conditions of its members.
Answer 23.
There are many kinds of ways of purifying water at home, five of them are described below
- Coagulation It is a process of purifying water using alum or phitkari. Alum when dissolved in water forms tiny, sticky globules called flocks. All impurities like mud, bacteria etc stick to these flocks and the top clean layer of water can be transferred to another clean container.
- Four Pitcher Method In this method, water can be filtered through muslin cloth. Four pots are placed one above the other. The first three pots have holes at the bottom. The hole in the first pot is blocked by muslin cloth. In the second pot there is powdered charcoal which absorbs undesirable smell. In the third pot gravel and sand mixture are present which hold bacteria. The water in the fourth pot is safe for drinking. When water is poured in the top most pot, it gets filtered by the muslin cloth.
- Boiling Water should be boiled at 100°Cfor at least 10 minutes. It is the best method as it ensures total destruction of bacteria.
- Disinfection Water can be disinfected by chlorine tablets or bleaching powder. Bleaching powder – also liberates chlorine which purifies water. It is used at the rate of 1 PPM to purify water.
- Tap Filter These filters are fitted with the taps. They can remove suspended particles of the water but not the bacteria. Most of the families adopt this method of water purifying.
Answer 24.
The following points should be followed to protect food from getting contaminated
- Food should be kept covered.
- Clean kitchen surface with hot water and disinfectant.
- Kitchen should be kept free from household pests like flies, cockroaches, ants, rats, lizards etc. Insecticides should be sprayed periodically to check pests.
- Lighting should be proper so that dirt and other impurities can be seen and cleaned easily in kitchen.
- There should be an adequate system of ventilation in the kitchen.
- Dustbins should be stored and lined properly.
- Wash vegetables and utensils before cooking.
- The nails of the food handler should be properly trimmed and hair should be tied.
- Clothes should be clean. Sick person should not handle food.
- Prepare food in required amount to avoid contamination.

Dress for a Workplace
Following points should be kept in mind while selecting a dress for a workplace
- Clothes should be simple and sober.
- Clothes should be made of wrinkle free fabric because they have to be worn the whole day.
- Clothes for a workplace should look formal.
- They should be easy to wash and maintain as a working person does not have too much time to clean and maintain it.
- They should be comfortable so that the person can move his hands easily.
Dress for a Formal Function
Following points should be considered while selecting a dress for a formal function
- The dress should be delicate and dry cleaned only as they have to be worn occasionally.
- Clothes should be according to latest fashion.
- The colour, design and style of dress should be attractive and suit the function.
- The dress might be expensive as it has to be special.
- The dress to be worn in a formal function should not be vulgar.
