Yes, there are many animals that are repeated because the characteristics of those animals are different depending on their habitat, eating habit, reproductive capacity, and skeletal features.

Exercise 7:  

Solution 1:
Cow or buffalo are the cattle which is necessary for the village people. They depend on the cattle for their livelihood for irrigation purposes. The absence of cows and buffaloes will dwindle the village environment as it will lead to scarcity of agricultural dependence.

Solution 1(a):

  1. To distinguish the illiterate people, their thumb impression is taken.
  2. The thumb impression is unique for all people.

Solution 2:
Dogs play a huge part in the technological advances of the human race. They allow for large scale farming. They help clear out brush and eat a lot of grass and weeds. That could lead to abnormal growth of brush that could harm the livestock industry.

Solution 3:
We need ants because they help our soil by adding air to it and they also help seeds of flowers/plants and most plants rely on ants to help them live.

Solution 4:
There would be no omnivores or carnivores and the oxygen level would rapidly increase and carbon dioxide would get depleted.

Frog and crocodile are both aquatic and terrestrial animals as they live both on land and in water. So, these animals are called amphibians.

Solution 2:
Bat is a mammal because its most distinguishing feature is its forelimbs which are developed as wings, making them capable of flight.

Solution 3:
Yes, the tail of a lizard grows again when it is cut because they have the regenerative capacity to grow their body parts. The tail is the living part of the lizard that keeps moving.

Solution 4:
The animals that show regenerative capabilities like lizard are starfish, deer, flatworm, sea squirt.

Two animals- Rat, Rabbit
Similarities:

  • Both are vertebrates
  • Both are burrowing animals

Dissimilarities:

  • Rats are rodents while rabbits are not.
  • Rats have 4 toes on the front and 5 at the back but rabbits have 4 toes on each foot.
