A poem is made of words arranged in a beautiful order. These words,when read aloud with feeling, have a music and meaning of their own.
Answer:
In a poem the words of the poet’s thinking are arranged in such a manner that they appeal a melodious tone though they’re not grammatically correct.

The ‘poetry of earth’ is not made of words. What is it made of, as suggested in the poem ?
Answer:
“The poetry of earth’ is made of the songs of its creatures like grasshopper and cricket.

Find in the poem lines that match the following.

The poem ‘On the Grasshopper and Cricket’ is a nature poem. The grasshopper and cricket are the symbols here suggesting something else that the earth keeps on through summer and winter in a never-ending song. It is a cycle of two seasons. Each and every season has its own importance whether it is scroching summer or chilly winter.

चींटी तथा झींगुर’ (पृप्ट 21) से भिन्न यह एक प्रकृति कविता है। इसमें टिड्डा और झींगुर कहानी के पात्रों के रूप में प्रस्तुत नहीं होते वल्कि वे प्रतीकों के रूप में कार्यरत हैं। प्रत्येक कुछ अलग सा सुझाव देता है। कविता को पढ़िये और यान दीजिए कि किस प्रकार ‘धरती की कविता’ सर्दियों व गर्मियों में एक अंतहीन गोत के रूप में निरन्तर चलती रहती है। गीत कौन गाता है?

धरती की कविता कभी मृतपाय नहीं होती। जब सभी पक्षी सूर्य की गर्मी से थके हारे बेहाल से हो जाते हैं और ठंडे पेड़ों में छिप जाते हैं, झाड़ियों के एक झुरमुट से दूसरे झुरमुट तक घास के सूखे ढेरों में से गुजरती एक स्वर लहरी आती होगी। यह टिड्डे की आवाज है-वह अग्रणी होता है। गर्मियों में आराम के क्षणों में भी उसका हर्ष कभी समाप्त नहीं होता बल्कि जब वह मौजमस्ती करते थक जाता है, तब वह किसी सुखद घास-पात के नीचे आराम करने के लिए चला जाता है।
