Now can you tell why Salima saw changes in the natural vegetation as she climbed higher and higher? What type of vegetation as did she see in the Himalayas starting with the foothills and going to the higher altitudes?
Answer:
Salima saw changes in the natural vegetation as she climbed higher, and higher due to change in height, and climatic (temperature, precipitation) changes. At the foothills, Salima saw deep jungles of sal and teak. As she went higher, she could see coniferous trees on the mountain slopes. And still at higher altitudes, land was covered with short grass and snow.

Answer:
Evergreen forests are like the lungs of the earth because the way lungs provide oxygen to our body, in the same way, these forests provide oxygen to the atmosphere and maintain its appropriate balance.
